My Self Care: Self Care Basics

In our fast paced world, we often get so wrapped up in our responsibilities that we rarely take time for ourselves. It isn’t till our personal health suffers, that we realize that we need to make our health a priority. But why wait till your health is bad before you take it seriously? What if you could use preventative care methods to help maintain or even improve your health, before you have a dire need?
My Self Care is a wellness series that focuses on making your personal health a priority instead of a luxury. We teach practical self-care techniques that you can use at any time, to help you deal with the stress of daily life. Focusing on the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual areas, we aim to increase the whole health of a person, allowing you to be at your highest and best throughout your day. Our next speaker is Mary Teresa.
Mary Teresa’s journey to self-care began with a combination of post traumatic stress and an inability to carry a pregnancy to term. She was introduced to several healers who put her on the right path for her – addressing dietary habits and mindsets, as well as faith. She continued her journey achieving certifications in nutrition, herbs, natural health, Reiki and the Four Winds’ Healing the Light Body.
She will engage the room with demonstrations that show that body systems are interconnected, and discuss the effects of stress and emotions on our food choices and how to support self care without giving up on the joy of eating.
