Food For Thought

All over Detroit, community farmers markets are providing an entry point for FoodLab businesses to thrive! They are vital places for our members to test their ideas with modest risk and investment. Today, the farmers market tradition is alive and well, and with it the start-up spirit that makes Detroit’s community markets unique.

Last month, at our Marketing Meetup, there was a great deal of excitement around the possibility of FoodLab members working together to organize the first nighttime farmers market in Detroit – bringing a smorgasbord of the freshest, most delicious made food the city has to offer!

Billed as a nighttime Pop-Up, within an existing community framers market, our goals are to make the market more successful for FoodLab members who make packaged and prepared food, attract more visitors to the community market and strengthen the overall FoodLab brand, by bringing together the amazing food vendors in our community.

With this nighttime Pop-Up we are looking to mark a new era in which Detroiters – foodies, friends, neighbors and families – can buy locally-made delectables after sunset. Is the nighttime the right time?
