Enjoy Coffee for a Great Cause at Pour Over YpsiBy Yvelette Stines on October 2nd, 2016 /
If you are someone who loves coffee, music, and supporting great organizations, there is an awesome event that might just make you smile. You can enjoy your favorite drink and support a good cause at the same time. Pour Over Ypsi is taking place for the second year and local coffee shops are gathering to highlight the area as a coffee destination.
“I’m so grateful to have the chance to organize this event,” said Cami Ross, co-organizer of Pour Over Ypsi. “We have a great coffee community in Ypsi and nearby, and we’ve put together such a great, collaborative showcase for all of these local businesses. I’m excited to see it become a favorite Ypsi tradition!”
On Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 11am-3pm Cultivate Coffee & Taphouse in Ypsilanti, Michigan will host the event. The featured coffee shops and roasteries include Ugly Mug Cafe and Roastery, Hyperion Coffee Co, Cultivate Coffee & TapHouse, and Dessert Oasis. Attendees can expect a model that is similar to a beer festival, but with java. Upon entrance, you will get a bag of 12 tokens. You can use them to sample coffee and/or pastries from the participating shops. Your ears will enjoy the sounds of artists such as Nicole Pee, Tenley Rissover, and Anotnia Moses. “This is such an exciting opportunity to bring together the growing coffee community in the Ypsi area and let coffee enthusiasts see what is available! I can’t wait to see this event grow in the coming years,” said Tim Healy, co-organizer of Pour Over Ypsi. This is a great event to learn more about local coffee shops in the area and support the businesses in the future.
On Sunday, October 2, 2016 pre-sale tickets will be available for $10. You can also purchase tickets at the event for $12. All proceeds will be donated to a great cause called Food4Farmers (food4farmers.org) whose mission is to facilitate the implementation of sustainable food security programs in coffee growing communities. The organization helps coffee farming families, cooperatives, and community-based organizations identify challenges, resources, and strategies to build long-term solutions to huger.
