Three Michigan Businesses win $10,000, Now Competing NationallyBy Amanda Lewan on May 7th, 2015 /
We love when we see support for Michigan businesses, and when they are given the chance to compete nationally.
Comcast Business awarded 32 small businesses a cash prize of $10,000 for their annual Innovation 4 Entrepreneurs competition. Three Michigan based businesses were awarded, and now they need your help to win another $20,000. Taking home a total of $30,000 would make a great impact for a growing business.
Here are the three small businesses competing now:
Big Head Farms of Benton Michigan – This company is a certified organic farm growing vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. Their organic products are served all around the Midwest. Big Head Farms will use the $30,000 to invest in technologies to connect farm employees to tools for safer record keeping, and utilize online cloud based solutions for customer service.
Fresh Co Home Inc of Bloomfield Michigan – This local construction company would like a technology investment to help their customers stay up to date with the progress of their renovations. Through a mobile app they will keep crew, managers, and customers informed each step of the way.
Lawrence Hut of Royal Oak – This retailer based in Royal Oak is looking to grow their product line using technology. The investment would help Lawrence Hut provide e-commerce options as well as continuing to research and use fabric technologies in their products.
“The Innovations 4 Entrepreneurs program celebrates these 32 businesses that are using technology in smart, strategic ways and we are pleased to underwrite the investments they need to help them continue to execute on their plans,” said Denice Hasty, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, Comcast Business.
Only six out of the 32 businesses will make it to the final level. Voting ends May 10th. You can vote now at business.comcast.com/i4e/vote.
