Techweek to Showcase Innovation in Detroit Next Week

The week long celebration of technology and innovation is back and it’s looking better than ever.

Last year the national conference came to Detroit for the first time, and an estimated 1,500 attendees from all over the Midwest came out to celebrate. The event consists of plenty of happy hours, great speakers, a launch lineup for startups, a tech focused job fair, and a wearables fashion show.

The event is presented by Quicken Loans and begins April 13th.  Techweek Detroit will be at different places around Detroit, ending with a large expo at Ford Field.

Topics of discussion include everything from fashion and mobility to makers, and you’ll be able to catch local leaders like Veronika Scott of  the Empowerment Plan, Jennifer Guarino Vice President of Leather at Shinola, Elaina Farnsworth CEO of Mobile Comply, and more: http://www.techweek.com/schedule/detroit.

Allison Konkel Chief of Strategy from Techweek Detroit said the business and technology ecosystem is “measurably different this year than last. We’re inspired by what is going on in Detroit tech and we want to celebrate it — and showcase it to the techweek network across the  country.”

Why should an entrepreneur go to this event? Konkel’s answer was definitely for the networking opportunities.

“One of the mots valuable things anyone can get from our event is what we call curated serendipity,” she said. “We bring together an entire tech ecosystem in the a place where brand new startups can rub shoulders with big brands, established VCs, and successful entrepreneurs.”
