A special crowdfunding challenge is happening now to raise funds for local Michigan based charities.

Launched on Sept 15th and going through October 30th, the Rise Detroit challenge is helping raise money for charities while also providing awards for those who raise the most.

A total of $100,000 will be donated to charities who participate in the challenge. The team that raises the most funds during the challenge period can receive a $50,000 donation, with a second place of $20,000 and third place of $10,000. The challenge is organized by Mission Throttle, an awesome socially minded investment group here in Michigan, and the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

It looks like right now over 113 non-profit and community groups are participating in the challenge. This incldues the Chabad House of Greater Detroit, Atlantic Impact, Gleaners Food Bank, local theaters, economic development groups, and more.

What a great way to support our local charities. You can donate right now, or if you’d like to participate check out their helpful tool kit before jumping in to your campaign. Learn more about it online at Rise Detroit.
