Even if you are operating a small business, you have big ideas that are valuable to your business and set you apart from your competition. It could be your secret recipe, your methods or even your name that adds value and sets you apart. This is your small business intellectual property. There are different methods of protecting that intellectual property as well as ensuring that your small business does not violate the intellectual property rights of another business or person.
This two hour workshop will consist of an overview of the different types of intellectual property typically created by small businesses and the various methods of protecting it. Participants will be given examples of real life scenarios. Participants will also be introduced to federal and state trademark registration processes. A question and answer session will follow.
