Java at the Junction: Kiva Microfund Workshop

April 5, 2016 @ 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Kiva Microfunds is a non-profit organization that allows people to lend money, with a 0% interest rate, via the Internet to low-income entrepreneurs and students in the United States and around the world. Kiva’s mission is “to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty”. Razi Jafri, Detroit’s Kiva loan officer, will offer insight and answer any questions you have about the loan.

Razi Jafri is a Detroit based designer, community activist, and social entrepreneur. His background is in engineering and his interests lay at the intersection of social impact, entrepreneurship, and technology. He is currently working on a mobile app that will allow users to purchase meals for the needy at the point of sale at local restaurants. He recently began a fellowship with Civilla based around human-centered design.

Java @ the Junction! Join us for our monthly morning conversations. Each time, we’ll be chatting about a different topic relating to the start-up community.

Coffee will be hot and ready.
