Growing From The Ground Up; Native Newcomer

August 19, 2016 @ 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Join Bamboo East for the kick-off event of the Growing From The Ground Up Series – featuring local activists/entrepreneurs/organizers who are being the change they want to see in their communities. The series is an informal chat about experiences and hopes for our community over breakfast and coffee every Friday.

Please join us for an amazing discussion on how Native Newcomer has transformed into a catalyst to create dialogue between Detroiters. Ben will speak about his experience coming from NYC and diving headfirst into Detroit and it’s entrepreneurial community, his love for collaboration, and passion for his latest initiative, Native Newcomer.

Ben graduated the University of Michigan in 2013, concentrating in English and Entrepreneurship, where he started two businesses, involving Instagram for businesses and airport shuttles. Since, Ben has worked on 5 startups in NYC and Detroit. He is currently the Director of Business Development at SPLT and a Venture For America Fellow. His passion project is Native Newcomer, bridging collaboration between natives and newcomers in Detroit. Ben is also the co-organizer of H2SAS Detroit, providing free resources to 1700+ entrepreneurs.
