FoodLab’s Good Food Spotlight Pitch Fest at Detroit Startup Week

FoodLab Detroit is proud to present our annual “Good Food Spotlight”, an interactive food business “pitchfest” that gives five entrepreneurs in the FoodLab community the chance to present their innovative business plans and receive immediate feedback from a panel of expert judges.
This is an exciting opportunity to meet face-to-face with the food entrepreneurs who took part in FoodLab’s Good Food Business Accelerator. For 10-weeks these entreprenuers have been working on their business model that’s focused on developing solutions to increasing access to fresh, healthy, and high-quality food in Detroit.
During Detroit Startup Week, come watch James, Simple Supple Foods; Jane, Green House Soups & Chilis; Doniss, Living 4 Life Wellness; Evan, Nakee Butter and Priya, Nirmal for Disruptive Eating dazzle a live audience with their 5-minute business pitch in front of a panel of prolific industry experts who will provide candid feedback while the audience submits live polling feedback to help each business succeed.
The “Good Food Spotlight” will not only feature pitches from these five amazing food entrepreneurs, but it will include an audience of mentors, investors, buyers, writers, food enthusiasts and members of Detroit’s innovation and entrepreneurial community.
The winning food entrepreneur will be awarded a cash prize & mentorship to help them improve their financial projections and address immediate business needs, such as increasing profits and attracting investment.

7:00 PM – Community announcements + introductions
7:10 PM – Each entrepreneur gets 5 minutes to showcase their product. Experts share thoughts in the next 5. Audience vote on live-text questions entrepreneur wants feedback on.
8:15 PM – Drinks, food networking
9:00 PM – Doors close
