Failure:Lab | ArtPrize
October 8, 2015 @ 7:00 PM
Join us for an incredible evening showcasing the untold failures behind success.
In partnership with ArtPrize, the most attended public art event in the world, and the Michigan House, this limited seating engagement will feature 3 storytellers: an artist, a musician and a filmmaker.
+ Joel Potrykus (Director and Screenwriter)
+ Adrian Butler (Musician and DJ)
+ Amy Wilson (Dancer and Choreographer)
+ Olivia Mainville and the Aquatic Troupe
Failure:Lab | ArtPrize is a raw and intimate evening showcasing personal stories of failure.
With a refreshing vibe of openness, Failure:Lab helps pave the way for change by crushing the isolation and stigma around failure. Failure:Lab empowers audience members to persevere by exploring the space between people who fail and quit, and those who get back up again.
How does it work?
Failure:Lab mixes powerful stories, music, and audience interaction to create an intimate evening of discussion and learning.
Each storyteller shares a personal failure. There’s no talk of lessons learned or who’s to blame – just the story of what went wrong.
After each narrative there is time for the audience to reflect on and tweet what the story means to them.
A performance follows to clear the air and recharge the room.
By talking about failure, the audience can begin a dialogue about how the local community can help foster success. Failure then takes its rightful place as the crucial first step to success.
Embrace it, learn from it, build on it.
