Design Action Lab Info Session
June 1, 2016 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Design Solutions with the community this summer! Imagine a world where communities can band together to create and fund local projects. Local projects can enrich community spaces, and culture to create affordable housing, bike lanes, pop-ups and community centers.
Design Action Lab is a collaborative community platform where designers for social good, leaders, and doers can create, refine and fund solutions that address social issues. We’re piloting a program in Detroit – where communities are invited to come together around a “social mission” by taking an action-oriented design thinking course. Our mission is to give people the tools to collaborate on important social challenges, and improve the well-being of their community.
Join us for our intro session where will share our vision over a high energy brainstorm and conclude the event with an interactive vote for the social issue to focus on during our pilot program. Our shortlist includes:
— Food Waste
— Violence and Police Brutality
Will you join us on a “design mission” to tackle complex issues such a water, food waste, and housing? In our action oriented design thinking course we will design new solutions to old problems. Join us at the intro session and take this opportunity to meet your future collaborators!
