Activating Leadership in the Good Food Business Community
September 28, 2016 @ 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Already, businesses across the globe — including the small locally-owned businesses who belong to FoodLab — are experimenting with new ways of operating that respect natural limits and are more in touch with local community capacity and needs.
“Activing Leadership In The Good Food Movement” provides a wonderful opportunity to learn from, be inspired by and connect with a cohort of food entrepreneurs committed to building the visibility and power of the local food movement.
Over the course of (2) months in this workshop series participants will be led in conversation by Malik Yakini, Detroit Black Community Food Security Network; Dr. Peter Hammer, Damon Keith Center for Justice; Dr. Alicia Farris, Restaurant Opportunities Center United Michigan; Kate Krauss, Fair Food Network and others to reflect on the role business leaders play in the larger food ecosystem. There will be a strong focus on supporting business leaders who are looking to address systemic disparities in the local food economy and activating community change through advocating for food justice.
The cost is $150/participant and there will be a maximum of 15 participants. This series is available to FoodLab members only.
