How did you build your business? What made you who you are today?

Every entrepreneur has an interesting story full of failures, successes, chance, and all of the hard work in between. Storytelling is at the core of who we are as human beings, helping us better connect and understand our world.

Entre-SLAM, the storytelling slam event for entrepreneurs, launched in Ann Arbor in 2012 and has now arrived to Detroit. They’re hosting their first Detroit storytelling event at Club Blue this Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

“Detroit is blessed with a rich, kaleidoscope of entrepreneurs and solopreneurs, from farmers to chefs to high-tech bio business founders, of all whom have stories to tell,” said Christa Chambers-Price, Entre-SLAM Co-founder.

Eight entrepreneurs will get to share their story for the evening’s story theme “Still Standing”. Unlike the pressure of a pitch, you get to tell your story in a fun atmosphere with friends and neighbors. The event will also feature Chef-SLAMS, food competitions between local restaurants and a special half-time show performance. The entrance fee is $15.

The group regularly holds a monthly event in Ann Arbor and will continue each month on the second Thursday in Detroit. It’s great to see more entrepreneurial events expanding to cities across the state, hopefully further connecting our startup community.

What’s your story? Share with us below or at the next Entre-SLAM event.
