Ready for an end of summer adventure? This app can help you make the most of the last summer days.

Adventurate is a new platform and marketplace designed for the adventurer. Founder and CEO of Adventurate Jake Santangelo describes it as an “Amazon.com for adventures.” Users can download the free app and find activities easier when traveling.  You can pull up something like a kayak rental spot or join a city tour, all found and booked inside this new app. Users get special discounts too.

“It’s really easy and really simple,” said Jake Santangelo. “There’s all sorts of things people can do right here in Michigan. We help you find them.”

The idea came from Santangelo’s own traveling experience. He was trying to go on an air boat ride while in Florida and having a difficult time finding and booking the activity. He played phone tag with the company and found it to cause a distraction on the trip. So, he invented an easier alternative that serves both the adventurers and provides an easier communication and sales tool for companies.

New companies are being added each week. Santangelo said he had just signed up a company for sandboarding on Silver Lake Dunes.  There’s activities and companies already listed in West Michigan, Detroit, Lansing, and Traverse City.

“The app is free for both consumers and free for the businesses to sign up. Adventurate just gets a commission whenever a booking is made,” he said.

You can download the app today and try it out for free for these last few weeks of Pure Michigan fun.

“We think it’s a great tool for businesses. A lot of people have been signing up,” he said. “It simplifies the process for people and also for the businesses.”
