Co-Founder of Kickstarter Speaks in Detroit Next Week

On September 15th, Charles Adler Co-Founder of the popular crowdfunding company Kickstarter will be in Detroit to speak to local entrepreneurs and community members.

The event is a part of a “Starter Talk” series hosted at Campbell Ewald in Downtown Detroit. Kickstarter as a company has an interesting story. The company first launched in 2009, right when the country was suffering from the worst of the economic recession. Alder started Kickstarter with Perry Chen who now serves on the board.

The idea for Kickstarter struck Perry when he attempted to create a music event. He had the support and audience base but not the funds to get it started. Why coudn’t tickets be sold ahead of time to bring the event to life?

Today Kickstarter has helped rasie over $1 Billion in funds for projects like Perry’s music event all around the world. Pretty amazing, huh? It takes a lot for a company to reach a global scale and Alder will share his advice and entrepreneurial experience September 15th.

Check out more details on this event online at Starter Talks.
