Announcing A New Platform for Entrepreneurs

By Amanda Lewan on August 11th, 2015 / Comments

Michipreneur first started out like anything, an idea. We wanted to tell the story of startups and small businesses in Michigan. After a few years of blogging, we’ve watched the culture of Michigan continue to evolve to support entrepreneurship and innovation. It has been nothing but an inspiring journey.

I remember being humbled by Nameh Grigsby a man who discovered his passion for cooking while surviving a refugee camp in Nigeria. Decades later his dream came true in Metro Detroit when he opened his very own bakery. We’ve met mothers and high school students and even helped uncover Detroit’s youngest entrepreneur Asia Newson. Entrepreneurship comes in all sizes and shapes, but I’m inspired by each and every person we’ve met. I believe in entrepreneurship because I believe in the power of the human spirit to change the world. Hopefully here we can change the world for the better.

That’s what has lead us to where we are today. Welcome to our new platform for entrepreneurs. Whether you’re a freelancer, an artist, a tech entrepreneur or an investor, we hope this new platform better connects you to activities and information in your great state. We’ve opened up the site to be a community driven site. You can now submit content anytime. You can submit your own event, your startup business, post a job and more to our interactive home page and directories.

Have a great new story to share? Or lessons from failure or success? We’re always looking for more Michigan entrepreneurs and supporters to contribute anytime to our growing team of writers, too.

This is our community and our state. What better way can we make a difference right here than supporting the most creative and innovative minds? We hope to play a role in bringing people together. We believe we’re only at the beginning of something great. And we hope this platform helps you connect, learn, and find resources that can help you change the world.

One day at a time. One person at a time. One idea at a time. Onwards.

Thank you to local startup Momentum who developed our beautiful new home.
